In 1969, Mr. Tan Kim Chiang, the founder of the company started his career helping his father in Sin Chin Hin Furniture. Not long thereafter, with great vision & high enthusiasm, the young entrepreneur started his 1st company, taking over the whole business with zero banking loans, operating from home. A few years on, Sin Chin Hin Furniture expanded having another shoplot in Jalan Hang Jebat. With associates with Merison (M) Sdn Bhd, Mr Tong Hoe Soon, Managing Director for the whole Merison’s Group gave him a lending hand of loan from OCBC Bhd.
Throughout the years, with his vision to have better results conquering retail market in Melaka, Mr. Tan has taken another great step stone via M1 Wholesale Mart owned by Merison Group back in year 2003 with a 12,800 square feet shop lot. Tremendous results and profits was earned during the time doing business in M1.
In 2004, the relationship with M1 needs to end as the owner is ceasing the whole M1 business. This leads Mr Tong Hoe Soon, Managing Director from Merison Group offering a sister company transportation business to Mr. Tan. Mr. Tan switched his furniture business to transportation business, named under SCH Logistics .
The year 2004 was a significant year for SCH Logistics. Mr Tan strive all his ways to prove that he has the ability for a new business. The whole of Merison’s Group of transportation was contracted to SCH Logistics with only 7 trucks. All Merison’s trucks was rented to SCH Logistics and all of their drivers and assistant drivers was transform owned by SCH Logistics.
Due to the business expansion, Mr. Tan acquired hire purchase loans for all the trucks, slowly units by units purchasing from Merison Groups.
In 2004, Merison’s business expanded to the whole south. This leads to expanding for SCH Logistics as well. Coverage from Semenyih till Batu Pahat, now with the whole new business plans, SCH Logistics was also assigned to deliver the stocks for Merison Group in the total south. Great results shown as delivery timeline was achieved within 24 to 48 hours. By 2008, SCH Logistics owned a 22 trucks and now he owns a 14 units 40 footer trucks, 50 bonded trucks and 5 refrigerated trucks in 2014.
In 2011, Mr Tan Kim Chiang was honoured as Bintang Khidmat Terpuji (BKT) by the state of Governer for his contributions in terms of kind and cash to the state of Melaka.
